So I’ve been told

I would hinder my team since I don’t use Grenades in PVP , and for Flashpoints as well. I know some people rely on them and use them like they use their abilities but is it wrong that I refuse to use them in PVP and Flashpoints. I mean I’m unlike some. If I want to know about a certain fight and what have you, I use YouTube to search for a video, or Google to find a written guide on it. I honestly have never used those in either PVP nor Flashpoints, and I find them pretty pathetic in my opinion. If you have to rely on things like that , then you’re really not learning how to use your class abilities and such. I can see if you’ve used all your defenses, and stuns and what not and that is the last thing you have on you, but I’m sorry I know healers put out some damage but our main goal is to keep everyone alive, and I have rarely if ever seen a healer use a damn cyber-tech grenade to help maintain an advantage. So now it has me thinking is this really the right place for me?

First he doesn’t like the gear I am wearing, nor does he like my choice in guns, all my ideas, and etc are being shot down. I get a room in the Guild SH, we had it decorated the way I wanted, more so the way he wanted, then he’d take it all down, and do something different, and ask my opinion on it. I’d tell him I liked it but in reality, I just didn’t care in all honesty. This last time though after busting his tail to get those new Asylum Tanks and Toxic barrels, and placing them in the lab which he moved from a small room to one of the larger rooms before hitting the balconies on the last floor, the lab was set up and I loved it, even said so. But because I logged early one night and he was in by himself, he removed everything and put it back in a smaller room and made it look more like a room to his desire. Then asked me “How do you like your new lab?” , again I told him I liked it.  Always trying to change my character it seems to fit in with his idea for a guild RP , which to be honest, not a lot want to do anymore, or they want well established guilds, and you know what, there is nothing wrong with that. Since Bioware removed the RP for a lot of servers, new players do not really know which server is RP and which isn’t anymore. So yeah that makes recruitment hard, but also it shouldn’t hinder people who do wanna RP either, but lastly it does anymore. Then again, I get to break it to him now that I no longer care about RP, I just wanna have fun playing the game in groups and having fun in general. Which will probably prompt me to be kicked out of the guild, and if that happens , then so be it. I keep trying. If not on Ebon Hawk, well then I move that legacy to another server with a lot more of my unlocks.

Then he’s going on and on about character cards, then complaining about the new Mandalorian Guilds popping up, and thinking its because of Mandalorian Gladiators is the reason for the new guilds. I honestly don’t think so, and no sense in trying to tell him that. I understand being a team player means well PVP/SF/FPs, and etc. But not everyone wants to do just those 3 things all the time. I can’t do more then a daily set of PVP, and SF well it’s a time killer, and good for CXP when it’s on the bonus days, but Black Talon FP????? Sorry I do it when I’m leveling up a new character for the XP before hitting Drumond Kaas but that is it. I don’t run it like I did when those deco drops were around. I ran it 11 times to get the Black Talon Deco drop. But since Deco drops have been nerfed so hard in FPs and such, I just don’t bother really running them unless I decide to farm for speeders to give away to players that are asking for them, because that is just how I am as a person. I have done that with stuff I have gotten from cartel packs and etc. that just doesn’t sale that well on the GTN, and new players are always  the most welcomed because they can’t afford the gear right away, or they take it and sale it on the GTN themselves, to earn some credits. Whatever they do with them once I do with them, I don’t really care. I try to be a nice and helpful person, and sometimes it works. Other times it just doesn’t. I won’t be judgmental, I am who I am, and I won’t change for anyone.

PVP,Group stuff, Over all fun in SWTOR finally!!

So yesterday I did the daily bonus for Galactic Command, and it was PVP, so our GM, our newest recruit and a friend of theirs joined us in a group, and we Que for PVP, now mind you I always said in the past that I wouldn’t be doing anymore PVP, but well things change, and I changed. I am getting into group content now. On days that Flashpoints are the Bonus, we run Black Talon a lot for our GMs one alt, he’s trying to achieve a higher social level and I’m all for that, so we run solo mode with those Jesus (Or God) Droids as they are called, which kind of lets me do some DPS damage, not much but some. But I do cleanse us both a lot. So now I am also Level 71 or 72 in Galactic Command now as well, and I have all 7 pieces of gear, most dropped from the Crates, but the last two pieces I was able to get with Unassembled Components and Command Tokens, which were the Boots and Body Armor, now mind you I am not really into the look for the gear, so I let it sit out, while I use the outfit Designer, and I plan on showing off some of the outfits Krumar Ordo wears in game. I have really changed this year, and I’m enjoying this side of SWTOR finally.

This is something new for me, and I’m really finally enjoying it. Just like I did not think I would honestly love playing a healer spec, but I do. It’s something different for me, and now it has me wondering about trying my hand at tanking one day in the future as well. As you can see in the image up at the very top of this post. I did amazingly well as a healer in PVP, which to my surprise earned me a few MVP’s. I did manage to make some kills, only had one death myself as they ganged up on me and our GM and friends couldn’t peel them off me fast enough. Man they really do not like healers in PVP, and I can’t much blame them either. We do have a thing for trying to keep everyone alive in the matches. But yeah I’ve finally found a place in SWTOR where I’m comfortable, able to be myself and have fun doing so. No one has an issue with me being a woman that plays male characters. That makes it all more worth it to be honest. I won’t lie and say I didn’t know how I would be taken once I told the truth. But I won’t deny the fact that I am a female that games, and I enjoy the male voice actors more so on some characters then others. We even had a few death matches were we won all because I kept or at least tried to keep everyone alive, and we were able to win the matches and that made them really proud of me. Course I also had Blade sitting here cheering me on as well, even though he was quiet until after the matches so he didn’t break my concentration on keeping us all alive.  He’s being super supportive in all this as well. He was afraid that I would drop subscription and uninstall the game, but now that he’s seeing me doing other things, he’s proud of me for keeping at it. I know there are a lot of bad people in the game, but there are a lot of good people as well. I’ve noticed as well that sometimes it is not really the big guilds that will fit a person, but ones that are rebuilding, and are small are usually the best ones, especially for someone like me who has anxiety disorders. While I still do things as a solo player as well, but mostly I’m craving for group content now. I finally understand what everyone was saying in the past about being a team player, while yes SWTOR has a lot of solo content mainly the personal stories and etc, but it’s nice to group up, and go kick some arses from time to time too.

So also while doing some solo things, I leveled up my Nexu who I call “Shock” to influence level 50 and man let me tell you, he is a walking tank now, course that is the spec I put him in, all because with me being a healer, I needed to keep him alive while taking on the baddies in solo stuff from time to time, so that left me with another idea to level up another Cartel Companion so I opted to start leveling up my Mawvorr and get him up to level 50 and him I decided to name “Shadowstalker” I am even developing a story on how I acquired these beasts. Which will make for an interesting read once I am doing developing it. I am over all having fun now whether it be solo or in a group. Course next up for me is to get Bowdaar as a companion, but I am going to see if I can get some help for it since Chomper likes to chomp on me a lot. Course it may be different now that I’m in 230 gear, well minus the mods in my guns, which I need to upgrade soon to purple 230’s.

Changes and Challenges

How I am starting something new

I know I said in the past that I would never step foot into the PVP Realm again in SWTOR all cause of the toxic players, but guess what, I spent my day yesterday playing on two different characters at higher levels playing PVP, first up was Trayvae, and I was looking in my Companion Contact list and one thing kept annoying me. I am the type of person that wants the List to stop that damn gold flashy thing in the menu bar that sits at the top of my screen. I’m sure we all know how that feels, and secondly I wanted to use the flags and stuff I had collected on new toons that I have created since they gated the Republic and Imperial Banners behind having Valor for start SH decos, which doesn’t make much sense since most don’t PVP at early levels or if they do, whatever. I am a Decoration addict. There I admitted it, I have no shame in it. Plus this also helps me learn things about myself, grouping up, working as a team, and making some friends. While most that are doing PVP now is to grind for new gear since the unassembled pieces need are locked to PVP only, and that’s cool with me. But I also wanted to get Peirce on my Sniper, just something about having him hanging out with a Sniper sounded more cool than having him on my Warrior. Then after awhile I decided okay well I need to get my smuggler to level 70 and to grind that out in PVE is just soooo damn brutal and slow, so I opted to take my Charming Outlaw Jordelli into the realm of PVP as well to get 4x on the roster as well, and guess what, I explained to everyone that was yelling at all the CXP farmers that no one was there to honestly play, that is when I said. Actually I’m here for the challenge of learning PVP at a higher level, so that I’m not afraid to play it anymore. It shocked everyone on both my Imp team, and when I said it on my Pub team, they were like, wow, didn’t think anyone would want to play for the sake of playing. I said, well I’m not all that fast, nor that experienced in PVP, but if Bioware is making it worth while to group up for somethings, I’ll welcome the challenge any day of the week, and plus if you experienced PVPers have any suggestions on helping me out, I’m all ears. With that said, they told me where I’d be best suited and mostly it was Guarding nodes, or what have you, and when I was using Tray, they had me in positions to snipe people and were amazed that I had that an eagerness to listen or read what they were typing to me. I told them only way people will ever learn is by reading, watching videos, and etc., and that I was sick and tired of living vicariously through others during their PVP adventures on YouTube and what not, and they laughed because they could understand how I was so unaware of going into PVP with all the toxic attitudes and what not, but the people I met up in unranked solo were understanding, and happy that I wasn’t there for CXP grind only.

Plus I just have this thing now about the personal conquest objects now that I know I can do it. Plus some had helpful advice on the guild I am in once the match was over, or we were in between objects waiting for next round. I told them about how I also checked and seen that the old GM also let his sub lapse and now that I am the only qualified account. They agreed that I should keep the Guild since I am one of the last founding founders of it. They said it would be more helpful if I went to starter planets like Hutta and Korriban and try recruiting there. I also told them that instead of a heavy RP guild, I wanted it to be like a safe haven for those that are learning the game, and want to join an social aspect of it, and they agreed that a lot are just unsure how to function in a guild, and I also told them it would be for those that are having a hard time with the game in general, and or a mental health for MMOs as well, and they thought it would be a wonderful idea to have a guild for that kind of thing.

So for the time being, these are the two that I will be PVPing with until I decide to jump in with someone else, something else to do, since I am willing to learn and play and  try my hand at all things in the game now. Next will be probably SM Operations, and what not.

Trayvae The Manipulator LvL 70 Sniper:Engineering, Guild Master to Elite Imperial Vanguard

The Outlaw Jordelli -Scoundrel:Ruffian LvL 70, Kicks ass and takes names for later, and always looking for the easy payday!!

Am I the only one

That wasn’t let down

By yesterday’s developers stream live on Twitch.TV with everything that is going on in the SW: Tor community. I did not pay much attention to the fast chat as I called it,because you couldn’t see a damn word half the time because all you seen were New Ops, PVP, Etc. I did however notice that there were over 7k fans watching the live stream, then it drastically dropped to a little over 5k before I myself just closed the window and opened up the forums, and seen all the hate start flying about because the ones that are called end-gamers did not get anything new. I feel for you guys that love to end game stuff, but I’m also laughing too because I’ve seen the word MMO thrown around again. When will people realize that the word MMO stands for massively multiplayer online. BioWare stated when they started the idea of KotFE that it would be about story this time around. The only thing I did get upset with was the release of Chapter X which is what I’ve been waiting for since I blew through the 1st nine chapters in under 2 hours. But that was actually eased for the wait when they announced that HK-55 would come back as yet another permanent companion for those of us that love HK. I heard a lot of people say how they hated the HK series, but loved HK-47 in Knights of the Old Republic.

The Summary if you did not see the stream.

Or even read the forums. I decided I would block quote here for you in-case you don’t want to travel that far back in this forum topic.

Now me, well I can’t wait to have HK-55 because I so loved my HK-51 and was happy to see that even though  they disabled him for a bit in the KotFE story , by the end of Chapter IX you get him and Treek back when you do the Alliance story line, which is really nothing more then getting to know the alliance, and hanging out in the Catina there on the new alliance base.

HK-55 is coming back!!

How will he play out in the story though. Well that is to be seen since they accidentally killed him during the Battle of Asylum. I for one asked for the return of HK-55 and it was mostly because of a few statements he made during his time in the story line. Well I will just have to stay subbed to find out won’t I? Of course I’m going to remain a sub during the whole time all because I love HK in general. I did not play Knight of the Old Republic to see the first HK-47, but I do remember fighting him in SW:ToR flash-points itself, and I loved it when it was HK-47 vs HK-51. But I so loved this line from HK-55 in KotFE when headed to Asylum I believe.

swtor 2015-11-06 20-48-44-37

Now my other take is how will he match up to the ones from the older games, and from the grind to get HK-51 in the past. Well who knows? I just can’t wait to be able to play as him and see how his story unfolds into the companion section of whatever class I have him in.

Ahhhh good old HK-47 screenshot I found online from someone that had uploaded a video of Knights of the Old Republic to YouTube with HK-47 in it.

HK_51_icon2comp_icon Now we have the one that we all pretty much did the countless grind to get him into our crew when he was first released. Even though I did not get him until later. I much loved having him at my side during the summer in the Epic XP Boost we had and all the comments that well made HK himself.

hk_55 And now we had a taste of this HK series and well I instantly fell in love with him when he made the “Declaration: Meatbags can’t fly” comment during the escape in the beginning. Then there was his “Theory: It will be a challenge to throw anything without your arms” and of course his “Request:Die meatbag!” , when it comes to the writers for HK, they have given him some of the best one liners in the game. My other favorite saying of his was this in the Endless Swamp

“Protestation: I have not done anything to these pitiable meatbags, master!”

I am not in the least bit displeased with hearing about having HK-55 in my crew. I know a lot are and well I’m not sure what to say about that because apparently a lot more asked for HK-55 then one would believe. I know I asked for HK-55 to come back all because well I loved his quotes.

Other Companions!?

I know they are releasing more of the classes companions through the alliance system and I think this is a great set up because it will allow us to get more companions from other classes and factions into our crew. I know some do not like this feature, but I actually enjoy it. I just don’t think it should really be hidden behind a wall of PVP with 4X and Pierce because well let’s just say this right now. Not everyone wants to PVP when they are PVE.  Now with that being said. I do wish they would either change that, or just get rid of it all together because even though I have some characters on a PVP Server, my PVE ones don’t PVP at all. Especially not at higher levels. That is just well suicide in my eyes. Granted if I do go back to the PVP Server which I probably will because I want to learn more about it, but it doesn’t mean I will become a hard core PVPer. Nah that just really isn’t my style for it. I do try hard when I play PVP but for some that doesn’t mean jack shit to them and it’s sad because if you find a good group to PVP with it can be actually quite enjoyable. But I do plan to try and build my alliance up even more with influence because it would be nice to be able to try and solo or even small group up for the heroics that currently sit in my mission log for some of the characters on Ebon Hawk that I have taken through the KotFE so far.

4th anniversary & Life day

So in 6 days they will be releasing the new anniversary gifts to everyone for being apart of the community and to celebrate when SW:ToR was officially released. Wow has it been 4 years already? I keep seeing threads in the forums about how the game is dying, or so-so will be the death of SW:ToR and etc. I have to disagree because most that are on the forums crying and saying this believe they are the majority of SW:ToR and well let’s be honest here. The forums are extremely toxic and very much one sided about 65% of the time. I’m being nice here so laugh at it if you will. From what I know even in the blogging community a lot don’t even go near the forums, or even have main planet general chats open for long because of the toxicity that goes on in them, specially if you are landing on DK. I have Gen chat turned on, but rarely pay attention to it. I will pay attention to it when I see someone asking for advice, help, or just being a noob and wanting to understand something a little more. I’ve even grouped up with blind invites if I’m in a heroic area to help out someone that couldn’t solo it. I just guess I’m the nice person at times, then there are times when I’m the asshole too. Depends on my mood really, but I do like grouping up to help out people that ask nicely or if we have the same open area goal I will group up and get things done quicker. I think that would be an ideal way for me to start a guild if I so wanted too. A lot of us love our Strongholds and etc and love to decorate them as a means to show off our personality. While I have maxed all the basic starter stuff. I am working on getting other stuff for my Strongholds now too. Since I have 4 of them and may just dump off one of the starter ones and get the hideaway on Yavin-4 as well once I fully unlock the others I have.

Summary or TL:DR

I was not disappointed with the live stream yesterday, and felt it was just right for what they were wanting to say. For those that feel they are being abandoned or neglected with the game and have opted to just quit. I wish you all the best in whatever you decide to do now that SW:ToR does not appear to be in your future. If you are staying and wish to be apart of the community still, I don’t know if it’s because of the holidays or what that I’m saying this, but try and be helpful to new players, even veterans that decided to give this game another chance. Help make our gaming community something we should be proud of. Start a guild with friends and accept noobs in it that are interesting in learning the game and don’t put time restrictions on them if they can not be online all the time. We all have Real lives that do not revolve a video game. Happy gaming Wednesday now. I’m going to go find something to do since I’m on a small Hiatus from the game in general at the moment.

Rants and Raves

About Heroics and Etc.

I have a huge rant about some of the things in SW:ToR at the moment. First off the one set of Heroics I’m gonna bitch about are the Heroic +4. I’m sure a lot will not understand this post, but some will. Okay so I was late getting into the Macrobinocular and seeker droid missions that well most have done and everything. As we all know that the majority of it can be soloed all the way until you hit the [Heroic+4] then after that you are required to group up for it. I’ve seen some be able to solo it ,and had a hard time, but most got a group together and did it. One of my characters still has that and the Opertaion on Oricon. I’d love to get the tauntaun mount, but looks like again I’ll have to wait, unless I wait for it to show up in Group finder, but I hate group finder, and some require some outrageous shit like having done it in the past, linking the achievement into gen chat, etc. Sorry but for those that are late getting to end game stuff don’t have the achievement, and well I’m slowly building up my gear on Daeqius because I have finally decided to use outfit designer. The other small rant I have as well as the Heroic+2 for the Star Fortress that I see now too.  Guess I’ll just have to keep farming for crystals so that I can get the proper gear to solo them as most are still stuck with their heads in the ass syndrome and don’t realize not everyone plays the same way.

Companions I don’t want

I hate having to grind for Qyzen, At least with Xalek if I don’t want him I can just do his quest and either kill him or say I don’t want him in my alliance. I don’t even get that option with Qyzen at all. Which to me seems unfair because really I can’t stand his voice , and I didn’t think he was all that great either. At least with getting Lokin on the Agent wasn’t half as bad as I thought it would be. I just wish they allowed us to decide whether we wanted to recruit certain companions and what not. I don’t dare go after 4x or Pierce on other alts because I refuse to do PVP. If I was into PVP heavily I could see this being a dream thing, but jumping into pvp at level 65 well that’s just murder and trolling someone that doesn’t pvp all that often. Let alone having a valor of 40, or even doing 20 unranked warzones to get them both. No thanx, I’ll be passing on these two companions on other names as well. And from what I read from Eric himself by talking with other Devs too, they have no plans on changing it at the moment, so there goes two quests that will probably sit on my alts since I have no desire what so ever to PVP. If I do, it will be on the ones that have low legacies, and no pvp titles and etc. I have no interest in PVP on a PVE server at all. I don’t care if  they try to force that all the way. If they do that, well I’ll do like most, probably drop my subscription and walk away all together.

There were bugs, bugs and more bugs

yes I know this title comes from the Sith Inquisitor Balmorra story line but if you like to complain about bugs, well they certainly gave us a good line to use. There is something at the moment that is bugging me to no end here, and that is the hype with the level 60 tokens. I don’t know if they are broke at the moment or not as I will not shell out 2,000 Cartel Coins for an instant level 60. What is bugging me is this. All those that have not finished the 8 class stories, and what not getting the unlocks for it via level up to 61. Buffs I don’t personally see the real good use for them anymore other then cosmetic’s on your character now, but if you got to the start of Chapter 3 in the main story, then you’ll have the buffs unlocked, you don’t get the legacy heroics until after finishing chapter 3 in the main stories. What I’m talking about is this. In the image below I took my level 50 Legacy, the first one I ever got to level 50, and all the unlocks for the chapters. By the end of Chapter 2 you get the buffs unlocked on each faction. Now what I’m seeing people saying via forums and reddit is they are getting the past part of the chapter 3 unlocks as well. To me this is a kick in the teeth. I worked hard, and busted my ass to get these unlocks, and for these people to take advantage of this bug well it’s a hard thing to stomach.

People are actually cheering for each other for taking advantage of this bug. While those of us that have put the time and heartache into finishing all classes and gaining access to all unlocks for both Imperial and Republic are now being slapped in the face with this bug. I know people are gonna take advantage of things, but really do they have to brag about not having done a solid class and gaining access to the end by creating a level 60 character. Even though specifically on the website for SW:ToR it states this about level 60s

Please note that creating a level 60 character will not complete Legacy Achievements for that class, and the class storyline of that character will not be available to you.
If you’re downloading the game for the first time and plan to start at level 60 you will need to allow the full game download to complete before hitting Play.

And yet because of their flaw with this, people are doing just that, creating a level 60 character and getting those Legacy Achievements for it. I have not seen a word edge wise about what they intend to do with those taking advantage of these bugs and what not. But I don’t expect much because let’s face it, the gaming industry is not without said bugs and exploits as one can wish for. I mean if you take advantage of something like a Legacy Achievement then something should happen, but it’s not, so it’s totally worthless in my eyes. People are gonna take advantage of everything they can in hopes they do get away with it. I mean lets face it. Sometimes something as simple as an achievement gets overlooked. But who knows with Bioware Austin.

Level Sync

Now you’ll hear a lot of negativity about level sync and all the complainers well doing what they do best. Now me on the other hand, I have a few characters that I did not level up 60 during the Epic XP Boost we had over the summer. I’m not complaining about that because well Real life happens, and takes time away from the game and etc., so I decided this past week to take my level 30 something trooper into the game. Well as of last night he was level 47, and that was before getting off Quesh. I breezed through Hoth with no issues even though I was sync to I believe level 42, now I’ll be heading off to Belsavis and will be level synced yet again and I won’t complain about it, because even being a higher level I’m doing really well course now I have to use a different companion as Aric Jorgan is unavailable for the time being. To be level 47 and not even anywhere near the end of Chapter 3 in the trooper story is just amazing. I’ll have to take a screenies of him once I’m done messing with his gear. But yeah anyone that says Level sync sucks, well just needs to have their head examined because this is the first time I’m welcoming level sync. Over in Guild Wars 2 their idea of level sync is different, you don’t get a high amount of XP when killing mobs and etc. They just tone you down, at least with Bioware Austin, they level sync you, and give you huge amounts of XP for completing a class mission or even the planetary arcs. So yeah I welcome level sync, if anything I think they mostly did it to stop us from being able to solo some of the World Bosses, and decided that since some wanted the XP boost they found a way to implement it into the game and see if it would work and I believe it is doing just as it is intended. So I welcome level sync if it’s going to make for an easier way to level up. Now while some are still using the infamous “Learn to Play” mentality they don’t realize that with the instant level 60s most aren’t willing to learn how to play. They see the words instant 60 and just jump right into it without realizing that there is a wonderful back story to their characters they have chosen. Now while some classes are just a dull drag and mundane to go through some have opted to just jump into the game and learn as they go. While this has both good and bad points. Its our job as a community to help the new comers, minus the ones that demand everything be handed to them. How to play. But alias our community is a mixed one, with a lot of negativity and with some that just don’t want to help out all the way around. To each their own I guess.

Summary of it all

It’s like this, we know there will be bugs and etc. in a game like this, but there comes a time when you can not accept the braggers about it. It makes those of us that have worked hard for theses achievements to see someone make an instant character level and get it, well it’s a slap in the face, kick in the teeth, or how ever you want to word it. Grinding to get specific gear should not be in question either. Most need to realize that not everyone levels and plays the same way, so a little understanding is well just that, understanding. Sadly most just want to do fast runs, and make others feel uncomfortable playing a certain way because it’s not their way of play style. So the next time one feels the need to put someone down, then ask them, “Why do you solo when you can group up?”, it’s because some in our community want certain things out of others that is well hindering some from the idea of grouping up . Think before you  type, and you’ll find a way into helping someone learn how to play the game. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful Friday/Weekend!!!
