FOTM and how they are wrong

Flavor of the MONTH…..

I recently read a few twitter posts about how some are only playing FOTM short term for Flavors of the Month, give or take how one spells “Flavor”, some countries add a u, others don’t. USA doesn’t they spell words funky, we know this. LOL, anyways I don’t believe in FOTM or anything in that nature. Most find playing as a force user fun, others don’t, me, I’m in a cross at the moment, while playing a force user can be fun at times, it really doesn’t spark much of a challenge for me often. I do love my Force using characters minus the Jedi Consular, I keep wanting to replay them, but the voice actors, and the over all story for Consular is just well to damn vanilla for me. So I tend to avoid making a new character there. Even though I think that maybe the one class I may try as a healer. I’ve never played a healer before because well I’m only into saving my own ass and not everyone else, plus I hear healers get a lot of shit in group stuff, and etc. hence why I never played it, but I just may because it’s something different for me, and I would expect it to be a challenge for me since I’ve never done it. But all that aside I see on the fleet during various times, even start planets and capital planets this infamous questions “Which class and spec should I pick?”, Normally I just tell them to play whatever the hell they want to play, because let’s face it, no one but you is paying for the game right?, even if you are not paying, it’s still your game to play the way you want and not how anyone should say you need to play. Now I’m not suggesting that you don’t take advice from others about what classes and specs they think is good, or looking up certain guides and etc. Because it’s good to get some general knowledge, but don’t let anyone dictate how you are going to play this game, or any game for that matter. It’s one thing to ask for advice on certain classes, specs, and etc, but it’s another to make that choice for that person because so-so is the FOTM , nah, don’t fall into that hype.

How I pick a new class and it’s specs.

This is just one way I play and like I said it’s meant to be leaning towards a guide more so then an option. I look at all the classes, both Empire and Republic, then I look at all the specs on both sides again. Reading over the information provided, looking up the talent trees and so forth. I hover all the abilities and read which each one does and how much of a CD they have, and what not. Then I go back to the main page where it says to chose your path. After a good 10-15 minutes, also moving so often as they don’t log me out during this time period, I pick the AC I want, and then I go over the specs again, and re-read everything, but then I stop and go to dulfy’s guides for PVE gearing and rotations, all because even though gearing while low level is not required, I want to know what I should be stacking overall as I do level up. I don’t buy mods the entire time, I let all my Common Data Crystals grow til I hit SoR Prelude, do those flashpoints, get the 99×3 CDCs, then I’ll upgrade my weapons all the time, but that is like every 5-10 levels or so. I don’t use the Crystals again til I hit 65 and can at least get the new level 65 gear from the vendors. I’m not talking the 216-220 gear, I’m talking about the 208 gear, the basic starter gear for end game stuff, I do that because then it helps me go through KotFE if I chose too, which I normally do, cause I’m a creature of habit, plus I do like the story so far, and when I’ve leveled up a new character that hasn’t played all the way through, it’s more challenging too, instead of stopping at Chapt. IX, I can now play Chapter X-XII, which next time I level a character up it will be through chapter XIII, so yeah that’s my fun, and how I pick and decide things.

Guilds and their FOTM

I’ve seen a lot of guilds recently since the QoL changes moving from 500 members to 1000 members and how they are wanting to grow their numbers fast. I understand that a good guild runs multiple times a day and I’m all for that, but guilds should not be looking just for certain classes and specs. I have went to the other servers where I have characters at just to watch the guild invites spam from one end to the next. It’s like it is some sort of contest now to see who can max their guild out at 1000 members, then I know what will happen, for those that don’t play all the time, or have alts ,will get the boot after a period of inactivity. Then there is their FOTM , again I’m not entirely into this FOTM kind of hype I think it falls more on PVP then anything else, but still I just prefer to play the class I am comfortable with, and what I want to play since no one is paying for my subscription but me. I see a lot more guilds wanting force users than any other class now and it is mostly on the RP servers like The Ebon Hawk server, unsure about the others as I just have storage characters there. Ones I’ve played, and never went back too for some odd unknown reason, other than to have multiple legacies across the U.S.A servers. There isn’t a given time on the fleet, starter planets, even Capital planets that I don’t see at least 15 guild recruitment messages, now the guild I’m in “Elite Imperial Vanguard”, well we don’t spam gen chat with recruitment messages. But our GM and myself are usually on same time sometimes usually when my insomnia is around, or totally different times, we use to have rules and everything, but lately when we have talked we’ve decided to just drop them. Like I told him I want our guild to be more than just a guild, I would like it to become something along the lines of a support group for people who have a tough time doing group content, or wanting to interact with others. Even new players that want to belong somewhere but not sure where, so in retro spec, “Elite Imperial Vanguard” is an outcast guild, for those that just don’t fit in anywhere, whether it be a main , or an alt, it’s welcomed. But we don’t follow the FOTM , or anything in that nature because let’s face it. FOTM only last for so long then it’s moved on, and then you’re told you have to make a new FOTM and level them up as well. Nah, don’t fall into that hype with FOTM, or anything in that nature. Join a guild to make friends, help out on things, and become a force of friends that enjoys the game together or solo, don’t join because of a FOTM type deal.

Summary of it all

Play this game how you want to play and not how others want you to play. After all it is on your computer  that you installed it, created a log in , and decided to start playing. This game can be tons of fun with friends, and without, but it can also become quite toxic as well. Just don’t let others dictate how you should play a certain class, or how you should look, etc. It does nothing but make them feel like they have it all and you have nothing. That is no way to play a game with people. Regardless if they say this and that , and you decide to go another route and they kick you, well then that place was not for you after all. FOTM’s only last a few days, weeks, even a month, then it’s onto the next big thing. Just like I hear people talk about various VoIPs and what not, How they say Team-speak is the best, and etc, but I’ve heard some say others are good too and price cost is well good enough for them. Again don’t let others dictate how you do anything with your time online. It is after all your time online that matters the most, not theirs. So pick a Class you want, then pick it’s AC (Advance Class), that you want to play, not what everyone else is playing at the moment. Overall your choice matters to you in this game not anyone else.

Recent Achievements

Aside from working on various things at the moment, by that I mean, my pen name blog, along with other things. While I am playing SW:ToR I am also working on things for my legacy. Even though it has been Legacy Lvl 50 for almost a year now if not over a year, well I’ve done some amazing things. I’ve gotten two new titles in the past week. I got the “Master Craftsman” title for achieving all crew skills to max to get the legacy title Unlocked. Just last night I hit the “Galatic Explorer” Legacy Title. A few weeks back I got the one for doing all the planetary Heroics, along with “Fallen Knight”, “Follower of the old ways”, and etc. So yeah I’m pretty damn proud of myself on my list of recent achievements, not to mention all 5 SHs are now fully decorated ,while some may change in the future once I get more decos I like and etc, I’m content with how they turned out.

This is just a few snapshots I took over the last few days. I will take more when time permits, and I remember too. Also I have been playing with outfit designer on a few of my characters and gave them different looks for my various moods. Jordelli has a few decent smugglers outfits that I like, and now with everyone maxed out in crafting. I am having a blast making dyes that I like, and keeping everyone in Stims, Med pacs, and other various things, but now this also has me thinking as well about starting a new character, but not a consular, I ended up deleting the other one, I did the story once, and just can’t bring myself to do yet another consular. So now I’m thinking of doing a new character, not sure about the main class, spec, and or species yet. I tend to stick with Human, Rattataki, Cyborg, Sith. I have them all , but I just can’t get over some of their looks. Others I tend to try to make them look more human than they really are. But back to what I’m thinking about doing. The GM of the guild I’m co-founder in has been doing a lot of PVPing lately, and I’ve been thinking about making this new character, bring them up to level 10, and start learning how to PVP and work on leveling up, collecting WZ Comms, and etc. Figure if I start out low-level, I can learn how to use Keybindings as I’m still and all fashion clicker, and also to help me learn my class even better. I know I will probably be laughed at all and but I was thinking of doing this as something else besides stories all the time. I mean you can only grind a story for so long before you just say piss on it and walk away. Plus it has me thinking if I learn how to play at a low-level, then save up enough Comms and etc to transfer over to one of my level 65’s and work on them as well to unlock both 4x and Pierce on other characters in each faction, so yeah I’m thinking of doing two new characters, 1 for Pub side, and 1  for Imp side. I have 13 characters at the moment on Ebon hawk, so figured I’d might as well really try to work on other things, then eventually we wanna get a good Op group built so we can do them, cause he’s never done them, and I’ve never done them, plus we want to build up this guild that we called “Elite Imperial Vanguard”, a guild where you’re welcome to come in with your alts, we’ll help you, you help us, and we build a small tight-knit little group from within. Eh, it’s just a thought anyways.

On that note, I’m finish this post, and have my last cup of coffee for a few hours, then crash, I’ll tell ya what, insomnia is a bitch at times, and so are odd sleeping patterns, up all afternoon/evening/night, sleep a few hours, and do it all over again the next day. Have a great weekend where ever you are!!

Force Users vs Non Force Users.

I’ve seen a lot of this lately in-game and on various forums and topics about how most feel that being a non force user should not have a place in KotFE, and at first I agreed until I remembered back to Chapter I: The Hunt when you are offered the first real choice in the game to either kneel or deny his chance to give you his power. Well when whoever kills him, that huge amount of energy that swept through and you were knocked out cold, and then thrown into carbonite. Well that amount of energy was him , and some of it had jumped into your body. Hence why he was able to follow you into the dream state, and keep you alive in carbonite for the last 5 years of your life. So regardless if you have ever accepted his help any time in the later chapters he is still very much apart of you, and you are now apart of him due to that energy mass that swept through the throne room. So even if you are not a force user, having him inside you, his power flows through you whether you like it or not. It’s how that part of the story was written, and now comes the time to put my topic into retrospect in some sense. Now this is just my own opinion and theory about this, it can be wrong, it can be right, but again it’s how I am perceiving this whole Force user vs Non Force user theory into mind.

Force Users

We all know that Knights, Consulars, Warriors and Inquisitors are all users of the force and always have been. They wield more power than most ever will. So for those of us that have force users as our mains, it would make much more sense to us to learn more of the force, not to mention learning how to balance the Light and Dark side of the force like the Zakuul Knights have, and learn how to make that power greater than theirs even. Now many are having a hard time with this because they don’t want to learn a new way to deal with the force, or learn that it can be more balanced when you stop trying to pacify it, or make it your slave. Which it kind of reminds me of the Sixth Jedi Code from Ziost. In which they added  the 6th line so here is how their code now looks at the end of Ziost.

There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.
There is no contemplation, there is only duty.

Even though sometimes the “There is no chaos, there is harmony.” line is removed, it still brings back to Jedi’s are trying to pacify this code, and then we have the Sith Code.

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.

From the Sith Code we see them trying to enslave the same code under their terms. So this brings me back to the Knights of Zakuul and their code should they ever have one. I believe it be something a long the lines of the Grey Jedi code.

Flowing through all, there is balance
There is no peace without a passion to create
There is no passion without peace to guide
Knowledge stagnates without the strength to act
Power blinds without the serenity to see
There is freedom in life
There is purpose in death
The Force is all things and I am the Force

So I believe the Knights and Scions of Zakuul live by this code as well all the others, and we as force users must adapt it, and become something more than just the Light or Dark Side of the force. According to some that are complaining about how they only want DS choices, well that again is your opinion, and your option to play it that way. I myself have been playing all sides. Not just LS or DS, but also Neutral parts as well. It is how I am enjoying the entire game play in entirely. I want to feel everything my characters feel, and make the choices that I believe are right for them and not someone else, because they believe this is how it should have been played. Now onto Non force users.

Non Force Users

Should we even care about their opinions in this at all.Yes of course, because if it wasn’t for the Dutiful Soldier, The charming smuggler, the reckless bounty hunter, or the shadow of Imperial Agents , much of the galaxy would be dull and boring without them. So while many are saying that “we are being forced into becoming force users.” I want you to think back to Chapter I:The Hunt again, whether you kneeled and accepted his gift, or you killed him, either way his power is in you regardless, it’s how you were able to survive those 5 long years in carbonite as well. So having some of his power inside you regardless of your choice, you in a small term have become now force sensitive and you can see some things about the force, and other things that you can not understand, the Jedi, sith, and grey Jedi codes mean jack squat to you as a truly non force user. But now is the time to open up your mind and think of the possibilities here. Not because you were forced into it, or you chose to use it, but because now who is to say that you were not force sensitive all this time, and just chose to ignore it and pick a different career path as an Agent, Smuggler, Soldier, Bounty Hunter. Maybe you have been force sensitive all this time and just did not realize it, because you chose not to believe in the will of the force. But now it brings it back to should a person or character in this matter lose their identity in this new era, well no of course not, but this is a reminder now as the chapters are showing more and more details about us. We no longer have a need for our old life pre-eternal empire era, we need to become something more, something greater, we have a new foe to defeat, and a new galaxy to reshape into any image we want. We have far more people now depending on us then just say the Sith Empire or Galatic Republic. We have a vast of core worlds, along with outer rims, and deep space now that are depending on us to stop this new threat, and yes Arcann and his sister are very much a huge threat as they are nothing more in my eyes then displeased children who never knew what it was to have their ass spanked. There I said it, now you can all laugh at that last part, or this whole post for that matter, but just think back for a moment, the choices we are making are the ones that do matter even more and more now, it is truly no longer about being Dark or Light, but becoming something better in the galaxy itself. On that note , I found some images online that I am going to post at the bottom, they are of the codes that we all lived under in the Star Wars galaxy for so long, and as they say, hard habits are hard to break.

Can’t Believe

It’s been a year

Since I’ve started this blog up again. I never thought I’d keep at it from time to time, yeah I was looking back in past posts and everything and it dawned on me that Dragosani-Legacy has under went some major changes over the last year. New layouts every so often. Various random information thrown out here and there, and of course the fact that when I originally thought of this blog I wanted to do it with one legacy name only until the epic XP boost came last summer, and I grew bored of being on one server and ventured out into multiple servers, but ironically I still landed up on only one server where I do everything. I even done some pvp on other servers where I still won’t send a completed level 50 Legacy over there just so I could have one that is strictly untouched by anything I’ve done in the PVE world. Of course though I am thinking of using my significant other’s account as one to start completely fresh on since he’s never really played with it. It’s in preferred status, but I think that will be in the far future when our RL stop being so chaotic at the moment. Back to this blog being a year old now, it just amazes me that I only started blogging a lot more after being invited last year into the NBI2015 and even though I didn’t get a lot of the posts done because I didn’t pay attention to it all that much. I have met some wonderful people from the SW:ToR community that way as well as twitter too. Of course though I haven’t heard anything more about one for this year or not just yet. Last year I was invited in April, but didn’t really get into all that blogging stuff til about late May early June, where this blog really took off. It became a place for me to vent about the negativity I’ve seen on various things including PVP and why I avoided it along with Guilds like a plague, course now all that has changed in the last year. I am part Co-founder of a guild on Ebon Hawk server, Imp side, but lastly no one really logs in, so I’m at a loss there. Not even the GM logs in hardly. So what I thought was a good idea, turned out to be well, Blahhh for me.

Legacy Achievements

I’ve done so much more in my achievements for the Spyderbane legacy than I ever dreamed possible. I’ve started pushing myself harder as a serious player but finally sticking with a set of mains, and a few minor alts. My alts I use now mostly for crafting or maxing out gathering abilities, and keeping everyone or at least trying to keep everyone in credits to use while still farming for them on the alts as well through various things like Solo Flashpoints, Heroics, and etc. I guess you could finally say that I have adapted and accepted myself as a gamer (wow and I hate labels) but yeah I’ve started to do things I never dreamed possible for me as I was just stuck in the midset of being a mild player. But hitting rank 50 on influence on one companion, not to mention that I now try to bring all my companions up to at least 30 in influence. Yeah sure they are over powered and I don’t have to use the Heroic ability as much, but that is the point for me. Not having to rely on that extra boost all the time. Sometimes I hit it just to hit because I forget it’s there mostly, but I’m enjoying the new level sync even though a lot still hate it. I’ve revisited planets where I just did main story quest and left never wanting to return. Now I go back, hit the Heroics, and if the mood strikes do the side quests as well as I really wasn’t into doing side quests during the Epic XP boosts. Plus lets not forget to mention that a lot of my other names were done pre Epic XP boost, and pre KotFE so it’s a bit of learning curve for me and there are some that I was able to bring over to Ebon Hawk that I loved the characters as did my significant other as well. Like my pain in the ass dark side Sith Inquisitor Raynasia who once sat on a different server but now sits on Ebon Hawk and I’m currently relearning her madness tree again. Darjade who also made the recent move, so I could have at least one Jedi Knight going through KotFE.

What the future holds

For all my characters on Ebon Hawk is uncertain, but the overall Love I have for the community as a whole is good and bad feelings. I guess you get that on every server though. The good and the bad, the non toxic and the extremely toxic. On a few characters I have even went back to doing the SoR story as I once started to loathe doing it since I’ve done it so many times solo. But Reinjasa and Toxi’k have went through it. I am trying to bring my new smuggler up to level and play it now, but still I get bored with that, I even brought of my 1st level 60 Bounty Hunter Tazdes and am now taking him through KotFE since he is “Above the Law”. I still have a few missions on Radqa that I’d love to get done, but alias I don’t think I will in the end and those are the Heroic 4’s for Seeker and Shroud, as you still need a team or at least a minium of 4 players on it. Oricon I don’t think I will ever get it done as so many that do it now are mostly wanting the achievements for it when it hits the Op weekly , and I have never done it, I’ve watched the youtube videos and pretty much know some of the mechanics, but alias I’ve never done it, and won’t attempt to try and put a team together to get it done, same with the Lance breaker Achievement on Yavin-4 as well. But who knows, maybe one day I will have a team of my own that will want to help me tackle those achievements and want to help me become a better player. Right now though I am working on maxing my gear to at least 216, so I’ll keep grinding heroics and etc until I achieve that moment.

Stronghold Addiction

Course now that I own all 5 strongholds I am also working on maxing them out to at least 100% complete even though since bringing Darjade over and he’s a bad Jedi Knight trying to do good now, I’m redoing the main SH for him there and named it Darjade’s Jedi Academy. Toxi’k has his Lair of Shadows on Yavin-4, Reinjasa has her Republic Sanctuary on Nar Shaddaa, and of course Trayvae has his Chamber of Deception on DK, and Radqa has his on Tatooine, so there is all 5 ,and I’m trying decorate them as I want, but some pieces I want are either way to expensive, or impossible to get since I have never done an Op in my life in SW:ToR, but ahh, I’ll figure something out along those lines. All 5 SH are publicy listed for anyone to visit. I’m happy that now I own all 5 SH and have unlocked all 5 fully so that I can decorate them. I won’t lie and say I didn’t do it an easy way, I did a lot of grinding, saving, and selling items that I would never use because I just did not like them on the GTN from the cartel packs. But I was smart, and played it the way I wanted too, course a few names have since left Ebon Hawk and went to various other servers, where I know I’ll have to pay the inintal unlock cost and get the rest by clicking manually on everything to unlock them all, but at least it’s a start should I decide to go back to one of the other servers I use to play on a lot. But that’s for another time I guess.

My Smuggler

Even though I had Kostos and I loved playing her, I recently brought a new smuggler up through the story as well, and well I love him. I lucked out in one of the Cantina packs and got a black/black dye so when I got that I knew instantly that I wanted him in a trench coat, and hat, and lucky enough the hat from the Bounty Brokers is Bind to Legacy, so I was able to send it over to him to wear, and then stash it back into inventory for legacy again. I love the outfit designer now as this has been his look since level 10.

Enjoy and happy gaming friday as it’s friday for me, and I’m going to be logging in and going to play.

Reinjasa-Level 65-Trooper-Commando-Gunnery

Her current gear and information.

I am placing screen shots of Reinjasa in a mixture of 208/216 gear, fully augmented of course. I take pride in this character, because normally I don’t really do much after a story line is completed, but with Rein, well she’s just so much more to me. She literally is a mark of my true personality. She is my tomboy trooper. Loves to get down and dirty, but can be ladylike in a way as well. She is also the inspiration to my fan fictional blog as well. For the longest time I avoided playing a female in this game because of the sexual harassment I have recieved in the past, so I just figured I’d go with the flow, and play as a male. I mean nothing wrong in that really. I am not pretending to be someone else entirely, well yeah I am, but that is another story. But when I created Rein I did it just because I had heard about the possiblity of romaning Aric Jorgan, and really giving him a hard time about being a male and having to watch a females back. I mean that line still cracks me up.

As you can see in the gallery above, this is Rein in her gear, course that isn’t the gear you see her wearing for that I have a few different outfits in outfit designer. I don’t like the look of the higher end gear, and well let’s just admit it here. Taking the Armoring, Mods, and Enhancements, and Augments from each piece of gear, gets well a little pricey to do it all the time. So I have my favorite orange gear set up in outfit designer, and am able to change her gear when I feel the want too. Of course right now she’s running around in this gear Ventilated Scalene with Black/grey dye pack added to it. I like the way it looks and everything, so next time I’m in game, I’ll have to a few more shots. Of course though I don’t think many troopers have seen this yet.

2016-04-10_04-21-08 As I was going through the main titles for her, I found this little one right after finding the one you get from the Heroic Star Fortress. I was highly impressed that we were finally awarded the Colonel title for our trooper, and yes this is the Ventilated Scalene outfit I mentioned above. I think she looks sexy, and very badass with the attuned cannon she has. So well I’m falling asleep as I type this out. So means I need to go crash for a few hours. It’s been a longgggg night for me with insomina, plus I got the latest story published on my fan fiction blog as well. Yes I know a shameless plug, but eh, it’s me. I’m proud of what I’m achieving at the moment. So if you’re on the Ebon Hawk server, and on Republic Side, feel free to add Reinjasa as a friend, and message me sometime in game. I’ll respond back eventually. I get caught up in decorating the 5 Strongholds that are oh yeah, also fully unlocked now. If I’m not on her, I’m on Jordelli my new smuggler.
