I’m just not……

Feeling it anymore.

With that being said, I am just not feeling it anymore to bring multiple characters across the KotFE story line. The game play is great, do not get me wrong there, but it’s becoming just like how RotHC and SoR is for me. Dull and well “been there done that,  tired of doing it” again and again. Plus I’m feeling a little disappointed with how they are forcing us to take certain companions that well I didn’t want in the original story lines, and still don’t want to this day. I am not a true huge fan of all the Companions I’ve ran across doing all 8 original class stories. I plan on revisiting my old list of how I thought some should just be well ignored totally. Plus now I realize I never touched base on the character companions on the republic side, only empire side, how shameful of me!?, not really I play empire side more then Republic side, as for I just mostly did it to get the legacy buffs when you click on your main buff on whichever character you are using. Now I have a list ready for all character companions. From Jedi knight all the way down to Bounty Hunter. I am only going to say minor things about each companion as there are a lot, and how I feel they either benefit or don’t benefit in KotFE.

Empire Side

Sith Inquisitor
Khem Val – Yes only cause I have used him a lot prior to 4.0, and still love a Dashade
Andronikos Revel – Off and ON about him, A space pirate that dumped the republic side. Yeah,
Ashara Zavros – No, kill her, or send her back to the jedi, just don’t force me to keep her.
Talos Drellik – Sure he loves to dig up devices and what not.
Xalek – Jury is out, not a fan of Kaleeshs anyways.

Sith Warrior
Vette – Sure a hacker is always good in tight spaces.
Malavai Quinn – Please NO, keep him where ever he is and not force him upon us.
Jaesa Willsaam – Sure a little psycho never hurts.
Lieutenant Pierce – Gated behind PVP for non Warriors, so fine by me.
Broonmark – Tzal are usually loyal to republic, but he’s just a homicidal maniac
Imperial Agent
Kaliyo Djannis – Eh, saddled with her again whether you want her or not.
Vector Hyllis – Can’t wait to see where he’s been, decent fighter so yeah
Doctor Lokin – Love getting him regardless of which character. Rakghouls are a favorite of mine.
Ensign Raina Temple – Please another Noooo,
SCORPIO- Couldn’t we just melt her down and make her into a shiny new weapon?
Bounty Hunter
Mako- She makes no sense for a BH Companion. Not even sure where she would fit in.
Gault- Only for pure comical enjoyment.
Torian Cadera- Sure if he’s grown a pair by now.
Blizz – Love having a jawa
Skadge- Please tell me he got locked up again.

Republic Side

Jedi Knight
T7-O1 -Universal Droid that gets into EVERYTHING!!
Kira Carsen- Hell No, let her be someone elses headache.
Doc – Please no again, I don’t want this womanizer back.
Sergeant Rusk- Sure he loves to kill everything and everyone.
Lord Scourge- Oh hell yeah, bring back this one for sure.
Jedi Consular
Qyzen Fess – Forced to keep him regardless
Tharan Cedrax- Ahhh, No
Zenith – Never used him in original story often, so (shrugs shoulders)
Lt. Felix Iresso- Great for cannon fodder.
Nadia Grell- Please no , another that made no sense into forcing upon us.
Trooper
Aric Jorgan – Only for Republic side, as a DS Agent, he hates me already.
Elara Dorne – Eh, whatever traitor in my eyes.
M1-4X – Only got him on trooper, as gated behind PVP as well.
Tanno Vik- Killed in Asylum.
Yuun- Another forced one , No thanks, he sits in my base, and I dont use him unless to craft.
Smuggler
Corso Riggs- No more farm boy antics.
Bowdaar – Can’t wait to see his mission recruitment in the coming months.
Risha – Eh, queen for a day, no thanx
Akaavi Spar- Odd one, didn’t really use her much.
Guss Tuno- Only for comical relief.

There it is, my only personal list of companions. Not sure a lot of the republic, and empire original companions will ever truly make sense in KotFE, but I understand that the Empire and Republic we knew before KotFE has all been well almost dismantled, and destroyed. But on to my next topic.

Choices that matter

Now to me this is becoming a joke as I am playing, because well we were told our choices would matter on just about everything in KotFE. We decided whether or not to keep Tanno alive, or kill him. 9 times outta 10 I killed him. Same with Xalex once we got his recruitment, you could beat him in a duel, and gain his respect, imprison him, or just flat out kill him. I refused him once, and keep him afterwards. But also what has me a little peeved at the moment is that during Chapter X, as by now everyone has probably played through it. Well at the end when you’re in the war room and depending on your decision Koth either leaves, or stays, I’ve had him stay on my Smuggler only cause she’s romanced him, but leave on the Agent cause well. Let’s face it, my agent Trayvae is a dick at times. Forcing us to keep all these companions is well pointless, as we do not need this many unless they plan to make changes where we can summon more than just one at a time. Which for some things would be great, others , just no. Just like at the end of Chapter X when you’re standing in the war room and Koth has his hissy fit, or Temper Tantrum as Senya says. You can 3 choices to pick from. But when you pick the 3rd choice it doesn’t matter, as they force you right into Chapter XI without any acknowledgement from picking the 3rd choice. I have done that one of my other agent, and yet when they released Chapter XI, it got ignored. Instead you have to well, I won’t say anymore about Chapter XI, but yeah. And this blocking out the ability of summoning other companions because well , “They placed Story restrictions” there is well mundane all the way around. I want to use a companion with a higher influence then the one I am saddle bagged to run with through an entire small portion of Content. An influence of rank 1 on a new companion because 1, you’ve never had that companion before, and 2, you just don’t want to use them for anymore than cannon fodder is pointless. But yet when you click on the main mission to click the little purple “Play button”, they allow you to pick a companion to go with you. I haven’t checked to see if in game you can swap out, but I’m guess my answer will be “NO” you must use the low level influence ranked one that you are recruiting regardless. I mean seriously? Now my influence with Kaliyo was in high 20’s when I ran my main agent through there, so was happy to place her in tank stance and run with it. But now I’m working on the Trooper Zanedyl and well I’m saddle bagged with her , since I didn’t want to be bothered so much that well last night after getting killed by the two pointless bosses blocking on of the node she needs to place a detonator on. I just said “hell with it, and logged out completely.” One my machine is not that great, and two, with Chapter XI , the damn planet lags more than anything and my abilities have a window of a 5 second delay. But choices matter my ass, as they are proving they don’t matter and if they do, it’s only when you pick the one they want you to pick. So thanks for killing the dream of allowing our choices to really matter. Can’t wait to see what kicks in the next episode.

Day 2 of POT5 Legacy

So today I started on day 2 of my pvp life and group content on POT5 server, and I must say I’m highly enjoying it. I didn’t think I would, but I am. Course my last pvp match for tonight left me just shaking my head all together. I zone into a WZ already in progress, they were already losing during the Alderaan WZ when as the match ended I see this in chat.

“Thanks you two lost us the game”,

That kind of made me stop and rattle my head so that my guages jingled together to make a metallic sound. I finished up what I was doing and clicked the “X” button on my client and logged out for the night. Decided that I would blog about day 2 in PVP and doing some group content with group finder. If you want, you can watch the video here. I decided I would upload it to my plays.tv account.

I came in at mid point where it was already 350 v 350, and fell quickly from both ends. I did what the original Ops leader said, “Protect the Node”, so I tried that as much as I could. Sorry but when I roll into a WZ already in progress and see “Protect the Node”, well I’m going to go help out my fellow team member and protect that damn node. It’s not our fault that as you typed things in chat, you got your ass handed to you over and over again. I could see if it was a ranked WZ and this happened, but this is unranked, and solo mode, so we may never run into each other again, and well I also before logging out, muted that person because they were playing the elite mentality that I just will not deal with. I even did a few FPs today as well. First up was KDY for the 20 comms daily you get from grouping up, then it was Athiss FP that I jumped in to help. The moment we all zoned in the Sith Inquisitor Assassin says in group chat, “I don’t know why they made me a tank.”, well I asked what his spec was since he was an assassin and he says , “I have darkness.” well that was why they made you tank. You have the tank spec in Inquisitor so therfore your roll is tank. If you didn’t want to be tank, you should have changed your roll before queing for group finder. He thanked me and said next time he knows. I guess he is new, and just wanted to do DPS, which is cool. I have no clue on tanking so I always try and pick DPS, even though my Sith Juggs are always in Immortal, but do fairly good DPS damage in PVE enviroment.

Shakes head and decides, eh, enough blogging for tonight, I’m go get ready for a new TV series on Dest. America called “Alaskan Haunting”….yes I love paranormal chit!! :p

Advice I’ve recently given in SW:ToR

So yesterday while running on my latest Empire character, I created a Rattataki Imperial Agent who I’m running as a LS Agent. It’s an interesting story line to say the least. I finished up Chapter 1 last night and started on Chapter 2, no I will not be posting spoilers for those that read this blog that probably haven’t even  started one, or hasn’t finished one. I’m not that type of person. So while on Nar Shadda I seen another person in general chat asking this.

Q: What story line is better for agent? Dark or Light?

Answers given were vary and some where rather rude.

I responded in general chat with this.

A: I have done Dark Side, Neutural, and now working on Light Side. Don’t try to think of it as terms in LS or DS for the agent story. Play how you would normally act if you were a police officer or something in that nature. Also many people will give you false advice, or just troll you. The best answer to your own question at hand is play it how you want to play, not how someone else wants you to play it.

Their reply.

Reply: That is honestly the best advice I’ve gotten so far. I’ve had many people tell me DS is better than LS Agent, but coming from someone that plays their way. It’s nice to see someone give an answer like this.

Replies came in from the trolls of course saying to L2P Noob. Sorry but I’m not a noob, I’ve been apart of the SW:ToR game now since 01.14.13 so a little over 2 years now. I’m not a founder, I’m not a pre launch. I am just myself.

Now while heading back to DK on my Agent Class Mission I see in general chat a question about.

Q: Why can’t I exit to DK through my stronghold?

A: all varied and all pretty messed up. Sometimes the trolls are strong there. Specially in DK Chat. I just offered this advice in an instant message , sorry to me they are IM’s not those damn whispers.

My Personal Message: Do not listen to those boneheads, they will say or do anything to upset your game play. No you do NOT need a ship to exit to DK at all from your stronghold. If you haven’t finished anything on your starter planet whether it be Korriban or Hutta, you won’t be able to come to DK Until you get the mission quest “Catch a shuttle to DK”, Apparently they just want to troll you and make you think you’ll never get to DK until you have a ship, but you don’t get your ship until the very end of the planet in your personal story mission.

Their reply: Why do some people do that to new players?

R: Because apparently they don’t have the common sense to not troll someone online. They believe they are better than everyone and get their kicks out of doing it to new players.

TR: Someone on my starter planet told me I could bypass the shuttle thing by going to my stronghold and then exiting to DK from there.

MR: They were wrong and did that to troll you. Making you think the game was broken or something along those lines. I have no clue why people do the things they do. But your best bet is to place that person on ignore, and you won’t have to deal with them again, nor will you ever be grouped up with them in group finder for flashpoints and etc.

TR: Thank you for the help, you’ve been nice to me even when others seems to be just rude and ignorant.

MR: You are most welcome. Enjoy your game and play it the way you want to play, do not let anyone tell you any different.

Now the other thing I witnessed and well it has become a huge pet peeve for me. Guild recruitment every 5-10 minutes. I understand people don’t want to be squelched for posting the same message over and over again, but while on Korriban and Hutta, I seen a few people post every 10 seconds. Always trying to up another guild or what not. Even seen one reply with (No interviews needed like other guild) Wow talk about being a little rude on that. If you play on a RP server, yes you will see RP guilds recruiting to increase their ranks or get new players that want to learn how to RP and etc., but there comes a point where not spamming general chat is the best policy out there. Let people know that your guild is looking, but don’t write a paragraph long statement on why they should join your guild. Give them a few pieces of information along with a way to talk to you privately. If I had a guild I would post this once an hour in general chat.

<Insert guild name> is currently looking for new players. Small RP/PVE community looking to increase friendships an etc. If interested in more information send me a /w Insert Character Name, and we can talk privately there.

Now to me that kind of recruitment would spark an interest or two in some players while many others will ignore and laugh at it. But I bet you could catch more players with posts like that instead of these ones.

<Insert Guild Name> Is looking for active players, we offer xp boosts, rep boosts, also have a SH , Flagship, we do PVP/PVE/RP events daily and weekly. Must be 18+ , have to be active in the guild at all times, We will do an IC interview , start your SW experience with us. We are a friendly guild that has helpful people on at all times.

That post takes up a big chunk of space in those small windows for chat. So if you’re talking about something in gen chat and that post comes across, you can and will probably miss something someone else asked you without you realizing it. We know scrolling in that tiny ass window is not feasible at times. The chat window is by far the worse I’ve seen in terms of chat windows. Even GW2 has a better chat window then SW:ToR. Which I went back to GW2 last night for a bit, but that will come in another post here later on this week. I haven’t decided if I’m going to try and bounce between the two MMO’s yet but well I had  to see how the graphics were in GW2 since I updated to Win 10 a while back.

I had recently thought about making a strictly Imperial Agent guild type format, but decided against it yet again. I want to own my own guild, and build from there. I’m not cut out for these other types of guilds because I don’t use voice applications while yes it may be easy to work with while doing raids and etc., but I’m just not into talking over people at all. I had enough of that in second life. Plus I have a lot of background noise with living in the middle of a town that has cars/trucks/trains etc running so much, not to mention people on the sidewalks yelling at each other. Just not good for anyone else to hear.

I even seen a question last night in gen chat on Nar Shadda about reusable stims and medpacks.

Q: What type of reusable stims/medpacks can I get?

A: List of purple stims and medpacks were given but not telling this person that they had to be a biochemist to even use them.

Q: what about low level reusables?

A: Only if you are willing to pay GTN Prices.

My reply: Only ones I’ve ever seen use reusable ones are those that craft the Biochem it self in their crew skills, seems these people decided to leave that out. If you are not a biochemist in crew skills, you can’t use them. when you hover over them they say only usable by those in biochem skill.

After my response to that I ended up with a lot of flaming hate messages which I promptly ignored because I knew they were the crafters trolling to sale their items. They are only interested in making credits off new players who do not know anything about crafting at all. So yeah I stopped that flaming hate real quick and ignored it all.

It is what I am best at. Pissing off the trolls and those that wanna sale things to everyone at higher rates, but don’t want to explain only certain things can be used via skills, classes, and etc. So yeah I’m the bad person there for spoiling their fun.

Another peeve I have is seeing this line in gen chat no matter where you are.

<Players name:> I will pay you 300k Credits for clicking my referral link. you get 7 free days of sub time, I get CC and you get a pack full of goodies. Just use my referral link and I’ll give the credits to you as soon as you do.

To me that screams SCAM!! Not saying that all will be like that, but I’ve seen enough in gen chat do that person a favor in hopes of getting 300k in credits and not getting them at all. Now they sit on someone’s referral list getting all the goodies each month they stay subscribed, and all that person got was 7 free days, and a perferred bundle pack that well once you go with a sub, only good thing in it is the additional 10 slots for inventory. Rest well I just sale at a vendor for 1,000 credits. To start buying the right stims I need to play. Speaking of referral links going wrong.

Back in July I had a few people sign up through my referal link and now it shows  thisStar Wars- The Old Republic - Friends of Star Wars™- The Old Republic™ 2015-09-06 12-48-42

I had thought about calling customer service, but just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Yes my favorite thing, “Haven’t gotten around to it yet”, Oh well that is enough typing for now, time to go play SW:ToR for a few hours since it’s quiet still. When hubby comes home, there goes my quiet time!!

Elitist Mentality? No thanx I’ll pass on that.

The Mentality

Now while browsing the forums on swtor.com, I hit a post that was posted in the newbie forums section. I go there from time to time to offer help or a suggestion about a mission, of what not, sometimes I’ll go there just to read the posts about the whiners as of late. Anyways I seem to always run across a post with this in it,

Playing this game since pre launch

Do all people who play MMO’s feel the desire to rub it around like a salt wound to new players that are just finding out about SW:ToR and what not ? I mean really who the hell cares if you’ve been here since pre-launch and what not. It’s a game, and sometimes with all the quests and what not, not everyone will remember how they beat so-so during a class mission. I just don’t see the mentality in this. If someone needs help and asks on the forums. Doesn’t mean well I need to post my creds for how long I’ve been playing this game. To me that speaks of being a total douche bag in my opinion. I don’t care how long you’ve been playing. That means nothing to me, because some people make accounts, pay for the subscriptions and ahhh well Real life comes into play, and you forget you are even apart of the gaming world, and etc. So just because I see words like “Been here before Pre-launch”, well doesn’t mean squat to me, because everyone has an excuse or two on why they no longer log in for a while.

While on the topic of Pre whatever. I also seen in another forum a while back about someone saying they’ve been online for 30+ years. I hated like hell to burst their bubble but I did it by linking information to them and saying they needed to relook at their time online because it is different thing totally. They replied back with “HUH?” , So I prompted to explain to them that the internet they were referring to is just 24 years old. Now how did I find that out, well easy, I googled it. and this is what I got as a result from google.

WWAGe

Now imagine that the first link is the one that said how old the WWW is. Don’t believe me, read it here. Little snip I took from the 20 years ago today link.

“On 6 August 1991, the World Wide Web went live to the world. There was no fanfare in the global press. In fact, most people around the world didn’t even know what the Internet was. Even if they did, the revolution the Web ushered in was still but a twinkle in Tim Berners-Lee’s eye. Instead, the launch was marked by way of a short post from Berners-Lee on the alt.hypertext newsgroup, which is archived to this day on Google Groups.”

In 1991 I was 14 years old, and dealing with school, and other issues, so I knew about the WWW, but didn’t really get into it until late of 1995, so I can say I’ve been online for 20 years. But it wasn’t until around 1997 that I got into chat rooms and etc. My father welcomed me into the WWW age all because he was into doing word documents for companies and etc. and I would help him out by typing them out in DOS a long time before even windows was a big thing. So yeah I learned how to type at a young age. I even took word in H.S. too during a time, and was an ace at it. My last online test for typing was roughly about 75 words a minute, with few mistakes. My fingers can and do move faster than my mind and I sometimes leave words out in sentences then I have to proof read my mistake and go “WTF I’m missing something here.” but yeah I don’t carry the Elite mentality I see online so much.  I personally don’t care how good you claim to be at something, or how long you’ve been doing something. No one is perfect, and these elitiest I’ve seen claim to be just that, a perfection of everything in gaming now because they claim to be a veteran. I’m sorry only veteran’s I respect are the ones that have fought, bled, died, and defended our freedom which as most can guess isn’t really free at the cost of anothers life or handicap as so many have come back changed from their war time. But that topic will hit my other blog in a while.

I am so sick and tired of seeing people put their gaming resume’s out there or seeing them saying “I’ve been here since launch, or pre-launch.”, I mean really who the hell really cares that you’ve wasted that much time playing a video game?  I just recently went back into my Raptr account and disabled mine. I don’t care who knows when I’m playing or what not. I did not realize that was still posting to my twitter account so I just opted to turn it off for good now.  I have seen this same type of mentality though in all games, virtual worlds and etc. They believe because they have been apart of something so long, they are entitled to be a douche bucket of shit. Sorry but I’ll just ignore you if we cross paths. I don’t believe in anyone being better than the next person. So those with this mentality just know that I will not put up with it. I don’t have to pay  to put up with it. So I won’t. But anyways, Enjoy your sunday gaming! I know I will. I have one more species to unlock then I have all of them unlocked.

Scams and Beggars

This post may upset some, but I’m sorry I’ve been seeing it a lot in the last few months or so since I’ve been bouncing servers all across the US grid in SW:ToR. I’m not sure how it is on the EU servers, but on the US servers well I’m sick and tired of seeing it already. By that I mean the infamous “Join our awesome guild we offer blah, blah, blah” Then of course there is also the infamous credit spammer mailers once again. I can leave a character off for a week or so and log into a bunch of “Spam for this MMO site ” and it’s becoming a burden and making me regret even thinking of logging into the game anymore. My ignore list is becoming a realm of unknown names and etc from these spammers. Sure I report them as spam, a ticket gets opened, and sits there in my help area for weeks on end. I understand that it takes time to investigate all these tickets and what not, but seriously ? Do they need to open up a ticket for a credit spammer? Couldn’t they just well have it listed as spam, and then not put it in as an open ticket. The guild notices in general chat are one thing, but now I’m seeing a whole new area that well makes me think of beggars, and those are the ones that will purposely try to offer someone credits just for clicking their referral link. I know some are legit as I’ve talked with a few via privately and what not, only because I was curious as to see why all of a sudden people are doing this, and it’s because they want the cartel coins without having to put money into the game, understandable and very honest, others want the toys and etc. That too is a very honest answer, but mostly some just do it out of spite so that the ones that have clicked a referral link can whine on the forums about how they’ve been ripped off by not getting promised credits for clicking the links. Sorry there guys, but unless you know that person. It all boils down to this. Take everything on the internet with a grain of salt, if sounds to good to be true, 9 times out of 10 it is too good to be true. Now me recently I have my referral link here on the blog, also in my signature area on the forums. Hell to be honest I forgot I even did that a while back, and I don’t pay much attention to it, but over the last few days I’ve gotten 3 people that used my referral link, and I appreciate that because I didn’t ask them, they just did it to do it. So out of this deal I’ve gotten a new speeder account wide, and two new pets. Not that I collect that stuff, but still felt pretty good to see that some people have used my link and I didn’t beg them too or anything. They just did it. I even seen someone in the guild I belong to on the EH asking for people to click a referral link, all cause they want the cartel coins. I was asked, but told them I had clicked months ago, and never once let my subscription lapse once so the friends link I clicked, is getting the bonus coins each month that I stay subbed, doesn’t bother me, just is strange that all of a sudden people are onto this big thing. But I’ve also learned that while yeah it’s good to advertise your referral links, and guilds and what not, but not good when you do it every 5 minutes to avoid the “Spam” detection that Bioware now has implented into the whispers and what not. For me seeing that spewed around my general chat, well it is annoying, I only really keep general chat open for those times I feel like helping out a new player with their mission, or grouping up for a heroic or two. But I can’t see that when I’m seeing “Please click my referral link, I’ll pay you 200,000 credits.”, or “Please join our guild as we are currently rebuilding our system and what not.” I mean come on, do you people really have to spam general chat with that garbage every few minutes, GIVE IT A DAMN REST, if people want to help you out, they’ll let you know, you don’t have to become a damn spammer that well in all honesty will probably land in about 5% of peoples ignore lists. Then what will you do if you group up and can’t find anyone, because well you got ignored for being a spammer. I just don’t really get it anymore. I decided that I would take a least 24-36 hours off and away from the game in general, all because I am little bored at the moment with it. Not that I’ve forgotten about it, but well you know RL stuff came up and I have to deal with that once in a while, but the spamming in general chat really has me wondering about it anymore. Are people so desperate that they literally have to beg people now to do anything? I even saw on one of the servers someone paying 3 people from 30k to 15k in credits to help them create a guild. I mean really has this become the big thing now in SW:ToR. Bribing others to get things done. I was gonna offer it on the chance since not all my characters belong to a guild, just to help the poor person out, if I’m do something like that, I don’t expect anything in return. Hell I helped out one guild mate a while back with credits, and they were offering me everything you could think of, and I just told them  to “Pay it forward” , meaning, do something nice for some total random person that day or week, whatever. That is how I use to live my life , paying it forward to another after someone has done something for me, but in this day an age, everyone wants something for anything you do. So I stopped helping out like that, but from time to time I will, just not all the time. Anyways enjoy your day/night where ever in this world you maybe. I’m off to watch a few movies, then try this thing they call sleep.
